The long term success of the United States relies first and foremost on our ability to improve our education system and regain global education leadership. Economic development and prosperity is only possible with a well educated populace. We must develop rigorous national education standards. Schools need to utilize what is proven to be the most effective curricula. Meaningful evaluation of teachers is necessary and great performance should be rewarded with significant pay increases. School voucher programs should be continued to increase competition and spur innovation in education. It is essential for state universities and colleges to continue to maintain low tuition fees. The federal government should support large research budgets geared toward science and technology. Let’s unleash our human potential. We can achieve much more if we mobilize the God-given talents of our people young and old.
